The Freeland Community School District Curriculum & Policy Committee met June 16, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Committee members Kristin Anderson, Lisa Knoerr and Cathy Steib, with administration Marcus Hillborg, reviewed a set of curriculum adoptions and handbook updates and recorded that “All items were supported and will go to the Board for approval at the June meeting.”
The meeting, which lasted until 5:40 p.m., included review of ELA textbook materials and a proposed new ELA course; Social Studies curriculum purchases (with the Finance & Personnel Committee noting costs and supporting the purchase); a variety of business curriculum items, several new middle school courses, and the K–5 Positivity Project; and updated drafts of multiple handbooks and curriculum guides. No members of the public spoke during the public comment period. The committee recorded its support and will forward the items to the Board for final action at the June board meeting.
