Board member Nancy Dye moved that the Board of Visitors convene in a closed meeting pursuant to § 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia for the purpose of receiving legal advice from University Legal Counsel Kay Heidbreder; J. Pearson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The livestream was suspended for the closed session.
After the closed meeting the livestream resumed and Nancy Dye moved a certification under § 2.2-3712 of the Code of Virginia that the closed meeting conformed with state law; the motion was seconded by J. Pearson and passed unanimously. The minutes record the board’s certification language as required by the statute.
