Haywood said signs at park entrances include non-emergency Park Police numbers and emergency contacts and that the commission is refurbishing and replacing signage. "It does have the numbers for park police. It's both by emergency and non emergency on every sign," he said.
The agency described camera upgrades at many facilities and said investigative units have access to controlled surveillance feeds for specific incidents. Committee members suggested increased outreach in multiple languages and direct community engagement at HOA meetings to educate diverse and immigrant communities about park rules and how to report concerns.
Haywood acknowledged the value of partnerships with council members and delegates to distribute materials and urged residents to call the Park Police when incidents occur so officers can respond and create case records.
