Council committee adopts amendments and approves CR-66-2024 to move $10 million in recreation/park project charges

The Committee of the Whole considered and approved CR-66-2024 — a resolution to transfer certain recreation fund project charges and to include park fund allocations — during its Sept. 10, 2024 meeting.
Staff presenter Reyna Hightower summarized the resolution and materials. In her overview, Hightower described the draft language and the attachments. At one point staff language referenced $9,000,000; staff later requested the committee substitute draft 1 be amended to retain $10,000,000 and to add park-fund allocations that appear in attachment B. "CR 66 20 24 was drafted, would allocate 9,000,000 in project charges," Hightower said in the overview; staff then asked that the resolution be amended "to stay 10,000,000 instead of the 9,000,000 that was originally outlined in attachment A."
A motion by Council Member Burrows to adopt the proposed amendments, seconded by Council Member Watson, carried in roll call votes. The committee then moved CR-66-2024 as amended (motion by Council Member Dernoka, second by Council Member Burrows) and approved the resolution by unanimous vote. Staff also noted a correction in the attachment to reflect the City of Glen Arden properly in the alphabetical listing. A council member requested that staff provide scheduling information explaining when the funds will become available.
