City Administrator Robert Harrington said the city solicited qualifications for a water and wastewater rate study and narrowed finalists to Great River Engineering, Allgeier Martin Consulting Engineers, and Bartlett & West. Harrington recommended Great River Engineering, citing the firm's grant-hunting approach and positive county references.
Alderman David Eden moved to authorize Harrington to work with Great River Engineering on the scope for the rate study; the motion passed. Harrington said the firm would also pursue grant funding opportunities to help with recommended projects, which the board identified as a priority for utility planning and financial sustainability.
The board did not vote on a contract dollar amount at the meeting; staff will return with a scope and cost for formal approval.
