County approves expedited annexation of 2.3771 acres to Oberlin under annexation agreement with Pittsfield Township

The board found that the petition met statutory requirements — signatures of all property owners, an accurate legal description and map, and designation of a statutory agent — and incorporated an annexation agreement between Oberlin and Pittsfield Township (Ordinance No. 06-71 AC CMS). The agreement includes detailed provisions on zoning, revenue sharing and development. For example, the agreement specifies the City will pay the Township an amount equal to the City's 2.375‑mill inside real property tax rate (subject to agreement terms) for certain commercial/industrial property and an income‑tax sharing arrangement equal to 18% of employer withholdings collected by the City for annexed property, with semiannual payments to Pittsfield Township.
