Board members reviewed a consolidated capital plan and authorized resolutions related to issuance of general-obligation facilities-maintenance, capital-facilities and tax-abatement bonds. The board discussed project elements at length: indoor air-quality improvements at Riverside, a parent and bus pickup/drop-off redesign, resurfacing and improvements to the high-school gravel parking lot, secure entry and vestibule work at Rippleside including bus drop-off, an ADA-compliant lift, replacement of partition and particle-board walls in special-education areas, asbestos abatement, replacement of exterior doors, and replacement of multiple roofs at the high school and elementary buildings. The superintendent noted the total project figure as "$10,800,000, roughly $10,900,000" in the discussion.
A motion to approve the resolution for bond issuance, covering the scope above and authorization language, was made, seconded and carried unanimously. Board members emphasized the projects are intended to address critical health, safety and security needs as the first phase of a longer-term facilities plan; staff will post the associated documents in the board packet and move forward with sale and project scheduling.
