At the May 13 meeting staff told the council she has been unable to access the accounting authenticator app and the grant portal used to submit invoices, delaying uploads and potential reimbursements.
Staff (S6) said, "I got kicked out when our email we didn't know I got kicked out of, the authenticator app that allows us access into certain programs... I'm not even getting the notifications, from my authenticator app... I have all of the invoices. I have a list... and so I'm just waiting to be able to start uploading." Council members said recovering grant reimbursements — possibly substantial sums — is a priority; S5 mentioned there "might be $500,000" available through grant recovery but also used a higher figure later in discussion. Staff said she is working with Yakima accounting and technology to restore access and may need to reset authentication credentials.
Council asked staff to keep pursuing portal access and to prioritize uploads so the city can bill subgrantees or otherwise claim reimbursements as soon as access is restored.
