The Williamston Board approved the 2026-2027 Williamston High School Student Handbook and the Athletics Handbook and moved other handbooks forward for formal action. Deborah Wolf moved and David Indish seconded the motion to approve the High School Student Handbook; the vote was Aye: 7 Nay: 0. David Indish moved and Heather Gorsline seconded approval of the Athletics Handbook; vote Aye: 7 Nay: 0.
Principals and administrators presented proposed updates to the Middle School, Discovery, and Explorer elementary handbooks; after discussion Mrs. Belanger moved these elementary and middle handbooks to ACTION at the next regular meeting. The Board also voted to revise a set of Board policies (1000; 2020-2; 2104; 4080; 5165; 5165-R) and to rewrite policy 5030 (Non-Discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity). Board member Nancy Deal asked that the record reflect her objection to the current draft of policy 2020-2 regarding organizational reporting for Special Education teachers.
