The Manistee Area Public Schools Board approved several teacher hires June 9, moving to fill elementary and secondary classroom positions ahead of the next school year.
Administrators presented qualifications for each candidate: Ms. Van Voorst presented Saraya Mullins and Mallory Mlejnek; Ms. Van Voorst and others presented Hannah Thomas; Morgan presented qualifications for Jason Vander Wall for the social studies position at Manistee Middle/High School; Ms. Nowicki introduced Kieran O'Connor as a candidate for the MMHS ELA position. The board approved the hires by motion; the record states "All in favor, motion carries."
Board members thanked administrators for their hiring work. Mr. Stoneman expressed appreciation to the administrative team for bringing strong candidates to the district.
