The Williamston Board of Education voted unanimously June 1 to hire Leslie Wertz as the district's Elementary Student Support Coordinator beginning in the 2026–27 school year and to hire Carley Ostrander as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Motion to hire Wertz was made by David Indish and seconded by Christopher Lewis; the vote was recorded as Aye: 6, Nay: 0. A separate motion to hire Ostrander was made by Deborah Wolf, seconded by David Indish, and approved by the same 6–0 tally.
At the same meeting the board also approved a contract with the Williamston Education Association covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. The contract motion was made by Christopher Lewis and seconded by Heather Gorsline; the roll call vote was unanimous. The board did not discuss contract details on the public record at this meeting.
Board members framed the personnel and contract votes as routine approvals to staff the district for the coming year. Dr. Adam Spina, the superintendent, earlier described the year as positive: "This has been a very positive year."
