The Albany Public School District board voted June 10 to seek voter approval of an operating levy referendum at $1,147 per pupil during the Nov. 3, 2026 general election. Member Dirkes introduced the motion and Member Ronning seconded; the minutes record the vote in favor by Ronning, Henkelman, Rueter, Dirkes and Hansen with no members recorded as opposed (Sand and Sands were absent).
The minutes record the ballot amount explicitly and show the board's formal decision to place the question before voters. The minutes do not include estimates of total revenue this levy would raise for the district or an implementation timeline should voters approve the referendum.
