The group noted reports of leaking and condensation problems in other recently built municipal garages and emphasized getting the mechanical design right to avoid similar issues.
LaRosa recommended studying nearby recently built garages and reviewing building systems used elsewhere before finalizing Tunbridge's specifications. The Selectboard discussed making mechanical performance and heating a priority in procurement documents and in any Request for Proposals; the architect offered to prepare write-ups describing several technical approaches for the board to consider.
