Planning Commission asks Selectboard to co-sign objections to TRORC draft regional plan

Amy Frost, chair of the Tunbridge Planning Commission, presented a draft letter for the Selectboard to co-sign that raises concerns about language in the Two Rivers‑Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) regional plan. Frost told the board that a TRORC representative had presented the plan at a Planning Commission meeting in October without placing it on the agenda then, and that the draft plan contains a lot of “shall” and “shall not” language that reads like requirements rather than advisory guidance.
John O’Brien moved that the Selectboard support the Planning Commission’s letter and co-sign for submission to TRORC; Mike McPhetres seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Aileen Lem will work with Amy Frost on edits and obtain signatures for submission before TRORC’s Aug. 10 feedback deadline.
