Well No. 2 operating at reduced capacity; city to consider water rate discussion in August

Temporary Water/Sewer Superintendent Mike Clark told the board that Well No. 2 is "pumping at half the normal capacity," and that crews will pull the pump on Friday for inspection. Clark said it has been about 10 years since the pump was replaced and he suspects there may be a hole in the pipe causing the reduced performance.
Mayor Greg BeVelle asked that discussion of a water-rate increase be added to the August agenda so the board can consider options if repairs or replacement require significant funding. The board did not take immediate action on rates but directed staff to report back with repair estimates and recommendations.
