Lowry City approves playground project; board donates $1,000 toward equipment

The Lowry City Board of Aldermen voted to allow a playground project proposed by the Lowry City Community Betterment (LCCB) and approved a $1,000 donation from the city’s general fund. Michelle Parmalee, representing the LCCB, told the board the group was awarded a $7,580 grant and hopes to raise roughly $30,000 to complete the playground equipment purchase and installation.
"The LCCB was awarded a $7,580 grant for playground equipment," Parmalee said. The board approved allowing the project on a 3–1 vote, with Alderman Charles Cone opposed. In a subsequent unanimous motion, the council authorized a $1,000 contribution from city funds to support the purchase of equipment.
