The Lowry City Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a $2-per-month increase in residential trash service rates for A-1 Disposal, effective Aug. 1, 2026. Michelle Parmalee, representing A-1 Disposal, appeared with owner Barbara Tabor and outlined the company’s rationale, saying the change is needed because of increased costs to provide service.
"Rates for residential customers will increase $2 per month beginning August 1, 2026," Parmalee said as she presented a written notice to the board. Alderman Sean Langston moved to authorize the increase, with Cecil Shehorn seconding; the motion passed on a unanimous vote. Council members noted the city will put trash service out to bid in 2027 and expect bids to be due before the June budget meeting next year.
