The Crow Wing County Board approved the plenary plat of Tiptop 1st Edition, a two-lot subdivision for parcel 68210711 in Section 21 of Ideal Township. Chris from Land Services summarized that the planning commission recommended approval 3–1 with conditions: removal of an old lodge within 24 months and a restriction that the two existing cabins cannot be made larger or taller without returning to the board of adjustment for another variance.
Chris noted the plat meets minimum state shoreland standards (shoreland rule 6120), and staff pointed to findings of fact in the packet supporting approval. Commissioner Lopke moved to approve the plat "per findings of fact discussed on 03/2025," and Commissioner Lee seconded. Roll call recorded aye votes from Commissioners Lee, Coring (Koring), Lubcke and Barrows and a nay from Commissioner Francine; the motion carried. Board members discussed concerns that one cabin’s position "almost hanging over the lake," and emphasized that the cabin must remain within its existing footprint unless the owner seeks a variance.
