Board's Findings list dates and behaviors the district says undermined confidence in teacher

The Taloga Board’s amended Findings of Fact, adopted Jan. 28, 2026, catalog a series of incidents the district says show a pattern of inappropriate conduct by teacher Danny Stump and document prior attempts at admonishment and support. The Findings list dates, summarize witness testimony, and state the administration lost confidence in Mr. Stump’s ability to serve as a role model.

The document identifies four dated events: an Aug. 14, 2025 confrontation with an umpire at a junior high baseball game that prompted the assigner (Paul Simon) to request behavioral modification before assigning officials; an Oct. 23, 2025 raised-voice interaction with the superintendent during an elementary game; a Nov. 11, 2025 incident in which Mr. Stump pointed at the superintendent and said, "we will be having a big talk," and told an athletic director to "get her in check"; and a Dec. 12, 2025 episode where the Findings say Mr. Stump "violently punched a locker near a student’s head." The Findings note minor children were present at each event and that the district issued written and verbal warnings prior to the hearing.

The Findings cite teacher conduct expectations adopted by the Oklahoma State Board of Education and district policy DBCA, listing duties such as protecting student safety and refraining from exposing students to embarrassment. The board concluded those duties were not met and found immediate dismissal to be in the district’s best interest.
