Insurance line-item questioned; treasurer cites billing timing and $2,499 rebate

During review of the proposed NHP/Eden Fire Department budget, Ricky Morin raised concern that the insurance amount appeared larger than the previous year's spending and cautioned against underfunding coverage.
Marvin Whitcomb replied that some of the difference reflected the timing of when bills were paid, which shifted an expense into a different fiscal year, and noted the department "received a rebate of $2499." He said he was confident the proposed insurance amount was sufficient for the coming year.
