Trustee: 65-acre site near Dunkin' to include Harbor Freight and Aldi; other commercial deals moving forward

During the July 22 meeting Trustee Kirk Marshall told the board that the 65-acre site behind the Dunkin' will be developed to include a Harbor Freight and an Aldi, plus a staging area for vehicles awaiting shipment to dealerships. Marshall also said land adjacent to Preferred Windows and Doors is slated for a gas/truck station with a mini-mart, and a separate parcel across from the bank on Torrence and Glenwood-Lansing Road is under contract with an estimated 30–60 day closing window.
Marshall framed these as near-term commercial investments in Lynwood. He additionally listed upcoming community events tied to civic and safety outreach, including a Cook County recycling event on July 26 at the library (1801 Stony Island), National Night Out on Aug. 5 at Liberty Park and Lynwood Fest on Aug. 9.
