Lynwood approves zoning and regulatory updates, ambulance cost-sharing IGA

The Village of Lynwood Board on July 22 approved a package of zoning and regulatory measures and an intergovernmental agreement meant to cover ambulance transport costs. Trustees voted, by roll call, to: adopt Resolution #25-20 amending the Official Zoning Map; approve Ordinance #25-15 revising licensing and regulation of group homes (Chapter 54); approve Ordinance #25-16 amending Chapter 70 on sale/use/possession of cannabis in violation of State law or village ordinance; and adopt Ordinance #25-17 updating towing and storage fees and related vehicle provisions. Each measure passed with Trustees Eaves, Lilly, Dunlap and Marshall voting aye.
The board also approved Resolution No. 25-18 authorizing the Village President to execute an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services covering cost responsibilities for Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support emergency ground ambulance trips beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Trustee David Lilly led the motions on the zoning and code items; recorded votes show unanimous approval among trustees present. Trustee Lilly additionally moved to waive readings and approve Resolution #25-21 granting Class 8 tax incentive eligibility for property at 3370 Lincoln Highway; the measure passed.
