Lynwood cites $2.3M climate resiliency grant, shared kitchen opening and major staging-area plan

Mayor Curry told trustees that Lynwood was among five communities awarded a climate resiliency grant totaling $2.3 million, and said the funds "will be used to replace our HVAC system at Village Hall along with several other projects throughout the Village." She said ARPA dollars have been granted for these projects.
Trustee Blakey reported that Cook County President Preckwinkle visited Village Hall to promote the Build-Up Cook campaign and that a May 24 ribbon-cutting was held for Poppin Plates, a shared kitchen to host caterers and food-truck operators. Blakey described a forthcoming car-staging area—the largest development under the current administration—where Ford, Tesla and BMW will stage vehicles behind the Dunkin' on Glenwood Dyer Road and Torrence; he said groundbreaking is expected soon and described the project as revenue-generating for the village.
