Selectboard appoints Kim Canarecci as emergency manager, approves permits and Fire Department hose purchase

Volunteer Kim Canarecci, who has years of emergency management experience, was appointed Fayston’s 2026 Emergency Manager by unanimous vote. Chair Chuck Martel moved to appoint Canarecci and Michael Jordan seconded the motion; the board approved the appointment on April 14.
The Selectboard also signed multiple excess-weight permits for local haulers (Acker Excavating, Bacon Trucking LLC, Goin Owen's, Little Digger Services, Grimes Inc., Harris and Redi-Mix Corp., K. Bellavance Land Works and Hauling LLC, Lackey Land Works LLC, McElwain Contracting LLC, Vermont Well and Pump, Christopher P. Viens and others) and approved liquor/catering permits for Sugarbush. The board approved a Fire Department request to buy hoses this fiscal year, with Ron Graves suggesting the reserve be replenished next year to reimburse the expense.
