Board members reviewed an updated draft groundwater ordinance drafted with input from the joint municipal groundwater committee. Scott Hulbert, the solicitor, said the draft contains technical material that should be reviewed by engineers and the groundwater committee volunteers before adoption; he said the township is not an expert on water quality and recommended targeted reviews. "I am not an engineer. I am not a water quality expert," the solicitor said, urging technical review and staged public presentations to refine the ordinance before sending it to the planning commission.
Supervisors discussed holding dedicated public review sessions or continuing the current meeting to invite engineers and volunteers for a focused review. The board tabled the motion to advance the ordinance pending those targeted reviews and agreed to pick dates at the July meeting for a possible continuation or special sessions so the planning commission will see a version that the board and the groundwater committee have vetted.
