Dr. Segura told the board the results "do not represent a decision" but provide valuable community perspective; the district will develop a five-day default calendar and a four-day draft option so the community can rank preferences. District leaders emphasized protecting student services (meals, special education supports), maintaining instructional quality if a change were pursued, and ensuring any schedule change works equitably for all families.
The superintendent said the district will continue stakeholder engagement, examine comparable districts, and keep legislative activity in view before making a formal proposal.
