Jail population down; sheriff’s office relays bookings, CAD-call data and scam-tracker warning

The Price County Sheriff’s Office told the committee April 9 that the jail population fell to 16 inmates and detailed booking numbers and CAD-call totals; staff also presented a Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker report and encouraged residents to report suspected scams.
The Price County Jail population was reported at 16 inmates on April 9, down from the previous month. The committee heard that there were 94 bookings from Jan. 1 through April 7, 2026, compared with 638 bookings in 2025 and 556 in 2024. The sheriff’s report also recorded 2,110 CAD calls in 2026 and 21,157 incoming and outgoing calls through the higher ground system so far this year.
During the jail update the Sheriff’s Office presented an article from the Price County Review summarizing the Better Business Bureau’s 2025 Scam Tracker report, which identified Price among the counties with the most scam reports. The Sheriff’s Office encouraged residents to call law enforcement if they suspect they are the target of a scam.
