Board approves request for up to two new CLTS social worker positions to address caseloads

Chana Rymarkiewicz, Behavioral Health Division Manager, told the board there are at least 71 CLTS cases assigned to the unit and that state guidance indicates 20'25 cases per worker is appropriate. She said, "There has been a request for up to two (2) new social workers positions to handle at least 71 cases open now; whereas the state indicates up to 20-25 cases should be allocated per worker. Currently, there is one caseworker for all 71 cases."
The board approved a motion (Baratka/Kopisch) to request up to two new CLTS social worker positions. Rymarkiewicz said the positions would be funded by state and federal reimbursements and require social worker qualifications. The motion carried and will be processed through administrative hiring steps.
