Price County seeks grant to repair Smith Lake ATV trail boardwalk after ATV damage

Price County's Forestry Department told the committee that two years ago a Utility Terrain Vehicle broke through 2-by-6 decking on the Smith Lake Park boardwalk, prompting a proposal to replace the current 2-inch boards with 3-inch decking.
Staff estimated the project could cost around $38,000 and said there is a state grant that would reimburse the county for expenditures upon completion, meaning the county expects no net cost if the grant is awarded. The committee voted to move forward with applying for the grant (motion Spacek/Drobnik).
