Aging and Disability unit reports Memory Cafe9 growth; ADRC Medicaid billing conversion set for July

Dawn Griesel, Aging & Disability Division Manager, presented the unit's Q1 report, noting that "The Memory Cafe9 / Support Groups under the Dementia Care Specialist has been well attended and a new group is in the works at the Park Falls Public Library." Griesel also told the board Adult Protective Services has been busy, receiving many complex referrals that require significant staff time.
Griesel said Iron County hired an ADRC Specialist at the end of March after Price County had been covering their department, and the unit will convert ADRC Medicaid billing in July 2026; staff training for the conversion has been completed. The board also received updates about Woodland Enhanced Health (WEH) service commission discussions about unit consolidation and rate-setting, which currently recommended no rate changes.
