The Pleasant Prairie Village Board approved a lot‑line adjustment that transfers about 3,600 square feet from the Cooper Road property at 7743 to the 50th Avenue property at 7729 to enlarge the Smiths' yard.
A village staff member explained the request on behalf of property owners Jamie and Nora Smith (7729 50th Ave) and Susan Murphy (7743 Cooper Road). "Specifically, Jamie and Nora are looking to add about 3,600 square feet of land directly from the eastern part of Susan Murphy's property located on Cooper Road to the southwest part of his property located on 50th Avenue in order to enlarge the property where they live to have a large garden," the staff member said. The staff presentation noted the parcels are zoned R‑6 and R‑4 (urban single‑family residential) and that the lot‑line adjustment complies with the village zoning and land‑division ordinance.
The planning commission recommended approval subject to the petitioner recording deed and plat exhibits with the Kenosha County Register of Deeds within 30 days of final village approval and providing a recorded copy to the village. A trustee made the motion, another trustee seconded, and with no objections the board approved the adjustment.
