Trustees approved Resolution 20 26-03 to amend the town budget to include wage increases for the marshal and deputy marshal and to add overtime for public-works staff. Town Manager Patterson briefed the amendment and described it as necessary to authorize the pay adjustments that had been discussed in executive session.
After discussion about an additional professional-services expense (estimated by the mayor at about $6,000), Trustee (speaker 6) moved to include the additional $6,000 for professional services; the motion was seconded and the board approved the amendment by voice vote. Patterson affirmed the amendment leaves the budget balanced on paper but cautioned trustees to watch spending that might push actual expenditures above receipts.
The board directed staff to publish the revised budget documents on the town website and to reflect any updated personnel-service costs in the posted materials.
