Sherry Darling, the ROE agent who joined by phone, told the board the document before them is an easement that would allow the regional water system to bring water lines through district property and provide options for district connections while allowing continued use of existing wells in some cases.
"It's an easement, and they'll be bringing the water in," Darling said, describing typical easement handling, encroachment resolution and the signature process. Board members asked clarifying legal and financial questions about the easement and possible compensation to the district for granting rights of way.
Later in the meeting the board moved to approve the Select Row agreement as presented; the motion passed. The board directed the superintendent's office to follow up with the ROE agent and finalize the documentation required to implement the easement.
