Council discusses airport fence line, WSDOT grant limits and memorial garden section
Summary
Council heard a report from Jim Hale on the airport fencing project and discussed a contested section by the Glad Tidings Church memorial garden; the fence's 8-foot height is tied to a WSDOT grant and Hale will seek Aviation Board permission to reduce it to 7 feet in that portion.

Jim Hale updated the council on the airport fencing project and said the work has proceeded with no reported problems so far. He described the fence line along town property near the Glad Tidings Church memorial garden and explained it follows the property line around the garden to the gate adjacent to storage units.
Council members noted the grant that funded portions of the fence references an 8-foot height. Hale said he would ask the Aviation Board for permission to lower the fence from 8 feet to 7 feet in the section adjacent to the memorial garden. The council did not take a formal vote on altering the funded height during the meeting and deferred any change until the Aviation Board response is received.
