"By adopting the attached resolution, the village plan commission is only initiating the village staff to evaluate and bring forth any zoning text amendments," staff said, stressing the resolution does not make any determination about the merits of future changes but starts the review process and schedules required public hearings as changes are developed.
Commissioners asked whether other municipalities had undertaken similar reviews; staff responded that many jurisdictions moved promptly after the statute change and that Pleasant Prairie is undertaking its update on a later timeline. The commission moved, seconded and voted to approve Resolution 24‑14; staff will return with recommendations and proposed amendments for commission consideration and public hearing.
