The Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission voted to approve zoning text amendments to the PUDs covering Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets, adopting new rules for site, directional and regulatory signage, temporary product sales, and directory displays.
Staff explained the changes would permit up to 20 framed 24x30 wall‑mounted signs for non‑advertising, venue‑oriented information (mall hours, code of conduct), allow up to 15 sidewalk display signs limited by size and setbacks, restrict electronic scrolling or message signs, and permit limited temporary truck/trailer tent product sales (up to 12 such events per calendar year by existing tenants or outside businesses). Staff also noted the village and Visit Pleasant Prairie could use up to one‑third of available sign faces at no charge. The petitioner, Michael McTernan, told the commission the outlet center sought the updates to reflect evolving operations and thanked staff for their review.
The public hearing closed with no opposition, and the commission approved the PUD ordinance amendments by voice vote.
