At the meeting the board approved several staff and contract items that will be implemented in coming weeks.
The board approved a collaboration agreement with Beach City Health District to implement a staff wellness program (Work Well Live Well); staff said the program will be tailored to each school site based on baseline survey results and draws on a nearby districtpilot. The board also approved and ratified a contract with Digital for Good to provide district presentations on digital citizenship and online safety; staff noted the group presented to students and families earlier in the week.
For facilities, trustees approved a not-to-exceed $10,000 contract with TerraPhase Engineering to prepare documentation and support an amendment to the Coastal Commission permit to allow synthetic turf at the Hermosa Vista turf project. The board also voted to extend the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee's authority to include Measure HB in addition to Measure S under Prop 39 oversight; staff announced three committee openings with an Oct. 31 application deadline.
All items passed on voice votes recorded in the meeting transcript. Staff will return any necessary implementation details to the board as agreements are finalized.
