The Hermosa Beach City School District board voted to adopt the district's three-year strategic plan for 2025-2028 and authorized the superintendent to implement the plan and report progress annually.
Superintendent Dr. Wilds outlined the plan's foundation — goals of excellence, inclusion and community — and emphasized that the plan ties to measurable SMART outcomes. "If you don't know where you're going, you might wind up someplace else," Dr. Wilds said as she described the plan's road map. Staff reported more than 865 survey responses informed the plan and noted that many metrics, including ELA, math and science goals, will have specific numeric targets in the published plan documents.
The plan also emphasizes inclusion and student well-being: examples include increasing the percentage of students who identify a trusted adult, reducing student support team referrals, and continuing safety and cybersecurity measures connected to bond-funded IT infrastructure. The board approved the plan by motion; staff will begin an implementation cadence with regular updates to the board at least twice a year.
