Eileen Levin, the district’s communications director, reviewed last year’s work and outlined upcoming projects aimed at strengthening outreach, enrollment and bond communications. "My name is Eileen Levin. I am the communications director for the Hermosa Beach City School District," Levin said while presenting a slide deck of accomplishments and planned activities.
Levin said enrollment grew last year and highlighted a 91% increase in Instagram followers (from 1,404 to 2,682) and expanded newsletter and staff-spotlight efforts. She announced upcoming family- and enrollment-focused events (TK information day Jan. 10; Hermosa Valley Preview Day Jan. 24), the district’s first State of the Schools annual report (to be available 07/01/2026) and a Waves of Progress bond update slated to begin Sept. 22. Board members praised the streamlined communications and suggested additional outreach strategies, including leveraging partner nonprofits for advertising grants.
