Alan (town manager) updated the council on several ongoing capital and administrative matters. He said banner and flower installations were completed, the town submitted materials for grant funding for the East Entrance project and is awaiting further information from the state. He added that the CHFA purchase of the Sagewood lots is closed but a few documents remain to be recorded.
On a larger project, Alan said the town is examining whether a roughly $5,000,000 Department of Energy grant could be structured into an approvable, usable project and that staff had met with a consulting engineer and a design‑build firm to explore options. "We had a good meeting today with an individual who's a consulting engineer, and we've had some conversations with the design build firm to see if we can get something to gel," Alan said.
Alan also said a new contract from the building official had been submitted for town review and would be brought to the council at a future meeting for detailed consideration. He said a developer who toured local lots is preparing a formal offer and that the town may consider selling a small number of lots to support housing construction.
Councilors asked for additional details on the building‑official contract and the developer offer; Alan said he will place the contract on the next agenda and provide supporting documents for council review.
