Superintendent Katie Chavarria informed the board that a Request for Proposals for a playground project has been issued, with submissions due April 29. She proposed forming a review committee composed of district staff, parents, community members and herself to evaluate proposals and provide feedback, and invited interested board members to serve on the committee.
Katie also shared a letter from Mrs. Shumway, who highlighted her expertise in early childhood education, ADA inclusivity and outdoor learning. The board briefly discussed dedicating a recognition for a former board director/former superintendent but tabled that idea until playground work begins.
