Superintendent Katie Chavarria gave multiple operational updates at the Dec. 17 meeting. She said the 2026–27 school calendar is in development and the district is monitoring neighboring districts' decisions for possible alignment. Work on the gravel path leading to the fire department will begin when weather permits, and a new handwashing sink is scheduled for installation during winter break. Katie also said the district's Comprehensive Safety Plan is outdated and currently being updated.
On finance-related items, Katie reported the district's pro-levy statement was received and submitted to the assessor's office. She also reminded the board that a vacancy will be effective Jan. 1 and that the district has 90 days to fill the position before ESD 112 would appoint a replacement if necessary. Katie closed her report by asking the board for feedback on weekly updates and by expressing appreciation for staff.
