The Skamania School District board reviewed certificated and classified salary-comparison graphs on Feb. 18 as Superintendent Katie Chavarria presented the data and explained the chart key. Chavarria told the board the IPD rate has not yet been determined and likely will not be finalized until the state legislature concludes its session, so current comparisons reflect this year’s data across districts.
Board Member Lisa Young said she was comfortable with the comparisons as presented. Chair Donald Collins requested staff produce cost projections showing the fiscal impact of 2.5%, 3.5% and 5% salary increases so the board can review potential budget scenarios. The board did not take salary action at the meeting; projections were requested for a future meeting.
