Attorney Ben Turner, speaking on behalf of counsel, told the task force he had listened to prior meetings and reviewed documents and would follow up with the requested materials, including the business plan and any contracts or land-swap paperwork related to Regional 1.
"I was on the road... From my understanding, it's still a a rebuild, but also, madam chair, what I thought was contemplated were 2 new towers that are being built to house some of the services," Turner said, describing historical planning assumptions. He told the task force he would compile documents and follow up so members have a clearer picture of scope and funding before the next meeting.
Turner also confirmed that he would check whether members of the task force's subcommittees can attend the hospital's internal committee meetings and would return with guidance. He committed to circulating information and noted that signatures related to a land swap with the University of Tennessee are being collected.
