Electric City council to research increase to fire chief stipend; MAC 911 routing issues noted

Fire Chief Mark Payne asked the council to consider increasing the current fire chief stipend, which the minutes record as $100 per month. Councilmembers agreed to research what volunteer fire chiefs are paid in similarly sized municipalities and to revisit the request at the Oct. 4 council meeting.
Payne also reported that the fire department responded to multiple calls outside city limits and that the MAC 911 system is in the process of changing systems; Electric City and Grand Coulee are currently receiving each other's calls and "a few kinks" still need to be worked out, according to the minutes.
