The clerk summarized the consent agenda: "Tonight, your consent agenda amends the fiscal year 20 25 council approved budget to accept and appropriate grant and other funding, which is used for the purpose of ending homelessness, optimizing traffic signals to improve traffic and driving experiences, and to appropriate $500,000 from the capital budget projects committed fund balance account to the capital budget projects to support a contribution to the Hampton Dooper News Community Services Board in recognition of the substantial investment made to 1644 Brierfield Road Road and the benefits they provide to Hampton citizens." The council moved and seconded the consent agenda and the vote was recorded as unanimous.
The consent motion also requested that VDOT program four new projects on North King Street, North Campus Parkway, Tide Mill Lane and West Queen Street into its six-year improvement plan and approved minutes from three council meetings. The council adopted the consent agenda on a voice vote with all members recorded as "Aye."
