Planner Han Mu said staff and the Planning Commission recommend approval with 15 conditions including an overnight lodging capacity limit, a limit on bedrooms rented, required on‑site parking, and a prohibition on events.
"Staff recommends approval of use permit application number 24Dash0539 with 15 conditions," the planner said. During public comment, resident Dave Rogers said the multifamily classification left this unique Buckroe Beach property inadequately addressed in the ordinance and warned of parking pressure, reading an Airbnb tally that said, "Once you approve this, use permit, within 100And23, 100And25 and now 127 North 4th Street, you can have 48 overnight guests." After closing the public hearing, the council voted by roll call (all present voting 'Aye') to approve the use permit with the recommended conditions.
