Council confirms several board appointments and swears in new Brownfield member

The Taylor City Council moved through several appointment items and confirmed multiple board members during the meeting. Council approved reappointments and new appointments to the agent commission, Downtown Development Authority, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Tax Increment Finance and Brownfield Redevelopment authorities.
On the motion to appoint Anthony Sauter (transcript spelling variants: Sauder/Sauter) to the Tax Increment Finance Authority and Brownfield board, the council then administered the oath of office at the dais. During the swearing, the appointee repeated the oath: "I, Anthony Sauter... do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States, the constitution of the state of Michigan, [and] the charter of the city of Taylor, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of tax increment finance authority, Brownfield board member," the appointee said.
Other actions taken included reappointment of Barbara Katarski to the agent commission for a two‑year term through 01/20/2028; reappointment of Sean McGuckin to the Downtown Development Authority through 01/20/2030; and appointment of Gordon Daisy as an alternate to the Zoning Board of Appeals through 01/20/2029. All motions were moved, supported and carried as presented.
