Council confirms 16 citizen appointees and updates agency representatives

City Manager Mario Giuliani introduced the slate and read the individual citizen nominations, including appointments to the Arts & Culture Commission, Community Services Commission, Community Sustainability Commission, Historic Preservation Review Commission and the Local Tax Oversight Board. Giuliani said the group of appointees will help staff 'fill vacancies' created by formation of a new Community Services Commission and other recent changes.
There were no public requests to pull any of the nominations for separate consideration; Mayor Young moved to approve the appointments and Miss Wolfe conducted the roll call. The motion carried on the roll call that followed and the mayor congratulated the new appointees.
What this means: the council's confirmations immediately fill multiple standing committees and outside‑agency representation slots. Staff told the council they will follow up with orientation and term details for each appointee.
