Public Works staff explained that the city currently operates seven dump trucks and aims for a fleet of about 10 so crews can run tandems and cover more subdivisions quickly during snow events. Staff said three additional trucks are on order with delayed delivery dates pushed back to March, which contributed to the urgency of buying an additional vehicle. Councilmembers thanked mechanics and DPW crews for keeping the fleet running and supported the motion, which passed on a voice vote.
